Introduce yourself

Hi, I’m Ida, I’m a photographer, musician and mum to one incredible whirlwind of a girl! We moved from London to Tunbridge Wells quite recently and I’m loving it so far, I think it might be the friendliest place I’ve ever lived. @idah_portraits

As a photographer I do portraits, family shoots, mini sessions for little ones, smash cake shoots and special occasions. I just got back to work post baby in the loveliest way with some gorgeous Christmas mini sessions for babies and toddlers. Now I’m looking forward to my upcoming Spring minis and meeting more lovely families here in Tunbridge Wells! As a musician you can find me in the West End playing bass guitar in SIX the musical or with my band on the London Jazz scene. I also teach guitar, bass and ukulele! No, I don’t sleep…

Favourite local business and why?

@madebykatriona! Katriona is a lovely mum I met recently as our little ones are similar ages. She makes beautiful unique up-cycled kids clothes. I tried to buy just one pair of trousers from her last pop up but came away with two because I just couldn’t choose!

Favourite hidden gem in Tunbridge Wells

As a newbie to Tunbridge Wells I’m probably yet to discover all the hidden gems! One of my favourite places so far is Dunorlan Park. It’s not exactly hidden but it’s so beautiful. I always feel at peace there and I think my kiddo does too. She will walk for miles…

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Proper dark hot chocolate. I keep saying I will give it up when my girl sleeps through the night. That day has not arrived…

Best mum hack

I don’t know if I’d call this a ‘hack’ but the best tip I’d give any Mum is follow @sr_nutrition and just do everything she says for feeding babies and kids. She is basically my hero and I fully credit her with the fact that my two year old asks me for spinach, beetroot and broccoli! I love her recipe books too, we use them all the time for the whole family.
