This week's Small Business Saturday spotlight is on Bloom Stays, an independent holiday letting agency founded by two fabulous ladies, Rowena and Nicky, who share a passion for unique homes and exceptional places to stay. With more than 130 remarkable properties across Kent and Sussex, from countryside retreats with hot tubs and pools to homes with some of the region's most spectacular views, there's a perfect escape for everyone.

Tell us about your journey from the business idea to launching the business. 

Bloom Stays was born from a love of travel, a passion for all the wonderful aspects of our beautiful county (and neighbouring Sussex) and wanting to continue to provide excellent customer service to both our owners and guests. We started nearly 6 years ago, which has flown by and the business has grown enormously since then.

What's been your biggest achievement since starting your business?

Creating a beautiful portfolio of holiday homes for guests to enjoy, and employing such a wonderful team of experts who all love Bloom Stays as much as we do.

What inspired you to start the business?

There was a large gap in the market for a local and independent holiday letting agency that truly cares about their owners, guests and the properties they offer, along with great customer service.

What does the future look like?

We are growing rapidly across Kent and Sussex and are on the lookout for more fabulous properties to join our portfolio of wonderful homes for our guests. We're also supporting local events and good causes this summer, including the Wine Garden of England Summer Celebration at Westenhanger Castle on 6th June. Family Holidays is our new charity for 2026, and we will be supporting them as part of our giving programme.

What message would you like to send to our community of small business owners?

Holiday letting can be a great business to be in! If you have a second home you use occasionally (or even a first home that isn't used for periods of the year) we can help owners to maximise their income, providing hands-on support and guidance the whole way. And if you're looking to holiday in Kent or Sussex, we can offer you some fabulous places!
