If you’re staying local this half term and need ideas to keep the kids entertained without spending a fortune… here’s my local guide to some of our favourite things to do in and around Tunbridge Wells.

🙌🏻 FREE & LOW COST DAYS OUT 🙌🏻

Frog Lane — see how many hidden frog statues the kids can spot

The Amelia — great for rainy days, little explorers and a sneaky coffee stop

Bedgebury — woodland walks, cycling, stick collecting and fresh air chaos

Grosvenor & Hilbert Park — genuinely one of the best playgrounds locally

Dunorlan Park — ducks, boats, ice creams and easy toddler energy burning

Calverley Grounds + adventure playground — perfect if you’re already in town

Toad Rock — free, outdoors and always a hit with adventurous kids

National Trust trails are £2 during half term at participating venues

Arty Farty workshops running 23rd–30th May

Spring Fest at Howletts from 23rd–31st May with kids tickets from £10

👌🏼PAID DAYS OUT WORTH THE MONEY👌🏼

Hever Castle — adventure playgrounds, water maze, boats and beautiful gardens. Easily a full day out

Drusillas Park — kids can visit for £5 with every full paying adult during May half term if booked online in advance

Spa Valley Railway — old-school train rides the kids weirdly LOVE every single time

Bewl Water — bike hire, playgrounds, water views and picnic spots

Kidsbury — role play village heaven for younger kids

Trinity Theatre — family theatre shows, cinema screenings and story sessions running across half term

🎉 HALF TERM EVENTS & HIDDEN GEMS 🎉

Aspens Bluebell Café — honestly such an underrated family spot. They’ve got Lego Mania sessions, BBQ food, animals, woodland walks and outdoor play running 26th–29th May
