Tunbridge Wells Shops Closed 💔

A bit of a sobering follow-on from my last “shops that have closed” post…

Since June, we’ve sadly seen even more independent businesses leave our high street or change the way they trade.

Shops & businesses that have closed or changed:

  •  Leaf & Bean  (St. John's)

  •  Stampede Shoes  (Camden Road)

  •  Hattons of Tunbridge Wells  (The Pantiles)

  •  Abbey Music  (town centre)

  •  Heart of Kent Hospice  (Camden Road)

  •  Zerdo  (RVP)

  • The Tunbridge Wells Hotel (will become THE PIG on The Pantiles)

  •  The Philanthropist Coffee  (The Pantiles)

  •  Millets (Camden Road store relocating and rebranded as Go Outdoors)

  •  The CakeShed (The Pantiles)

  •  The Silver Sheep (now trading online)

  •  Whirligig Toys (now trading online)

  • Cup109 (town centre)

And behind every one of these names are real people.

They’re not just shops on a list - they’re families, business owners, staff members and passionate people from our community who have poured their time, energy and heart into creating places we all know and love.

They’re the people who serve your coffee, remember your order, help you find the perfect gift, support local events and make Tunbridge Wells feel like our town.

This isn’t about panic or negativity — it’s just a reminder that our high street needs us.

If there’s a local independent you love, pop in, make a purchase, recommend them, share their posts and tell your friends about them.

Because once they’re gone, it’s very hard to bring them back.

Tunbridge Wells wouldn’t be Tunbridge Wells without its independents — let’s keep supporting the ones that are still here.
